Eleven years of doing the work. Then the paperwork.
Marouf Adeyemi began in 2014 as an initiative, not an institution. It was registered as a German nonprofit association in 2025 — because the work had outgrown what one person could carry informally.
It started with what was missing.
Water points for communities that had none. School materials, fees and support for children who would otherwise have stopped. Help for families at the moment something went wrong. The work was carried out informally in Benin and financed directly by the founder and a circle of supporters.
There was no organisation behind it and no reporting. The purpose was to help, not to document helping. That instinct was right for the work and it created one problem we are now fixing: a decade of delivery with very little of it written down.
Why we registered.
Informal help has a ceiling. It cannot sign an agreement with a school, apply for public funding, issue a donation receipt, or promise a young person twelve months of language training and be held to it.
In 2025 Marouf Adeyemi e.V. was entered in the Vereinsregister at Amtsgericht Cottbus (VR 6690 CB) and recognised as gemeinnützig. With that came a Satzung, a board, a Mitgliederversammlung, audited accounts — and the obligation to answer for what we say.

Six programmes, four worlds
Education, legal migration, talent development, the Hope Support Fund, disability inclusion and food sustainability defined as programme areas, staffed by eleven volunteers across six teams.

H.O.P.E. takes shape
The framework, the pilot occupations and the Kétou corridor are defined; funding applications are underway. Pro League Academy is established under the existing statute, with the registration of 1. FC Maurea Brandenburg submitted.

We are registered in Brandenburg and operate in Benin, with a board member resident in Porto-Novo. That is not a branch structure; it is how the work is done. Most programmes in this field are designed in Europe and delivered in Africa. Ours are designed in both places, which is why they start where the person actually is.
