Most organisations publish only their successes. We publish the open items too, because an organisation that shows what is unfinished can be believed about what is done.

Why there are no numbers on this page yet.
For eleven years this work was done without an organisation behind it: water points, school support and direct help to families, paid for by the founder and a circle of supporters. It was never written up, because the point was to help rather than to record helping.
We are now collecting written confirmations from the communities, schools and families concerned: what was done, where, in which year, and for how many people. When those confirmations are in, the figures will be published here — and not before. An estimate we cannot evidence is worth less to us than an empty column.

H.O.P.E. Phase 1 tracks these from day one. They are the numbers that will appear here once the cohort runs, whether they flatter us or not.
Who starts and who stays
Enrolment, attendance and dropout, recorded per cohort rather than per report.
Did it actually work
B1 examination pass rate, employer contract signature rate, visa issuance rate, arrival rate, and retention at 6 and 12 months.
Cost per successful arrival
Our primary metric. It determines whether this model can be adopted at public-sector scale, which is the only way the work outlives us.
