Film and acting, for people nobody has offered a camera to.

Danamax is our film and acting arm: workshops, equipment, production support and the introductions that decide whether a talented young person is ever seen.

Being built — trademark registration in progress
The approach

The barrier is access, not ability.

Acting and film are taught through unpaid internships, expensive schools and family contacts, which quietly selects for people who already have money. We work on the parts that can be given directly: training, equipment, a set to work on, and someone to send the work to.

What we provide

Two halves of the same thing.

Craft

  • Acting and presentation workshops
  • Camera, sound and editing basics
  • Writing and storytelling

Access

  • Equipment loans for a first project
  • Production support for short films
  • Introductions to festivals, casting and crews
Where it stands

Honest status.

STATUS

What exists today

The concept, the first workshop plan, and the people who will run it. There is no studio and no production slate yet, and we will not describe one until there is.

TRADEMARK

Name protection

Trademark registration for Danamax is in progress. Until it completes, the name is in use but not yet protected.

HOW TO HELP

Cameras and time

Working camera equipment, editing software licences, and people from the industry willing to teach a weekend are worth more here than money.

How we hold this

The rules we work by.

The work belongs to the maker

Participants keep the rights to what they produce. We do not take ownership of a young person’s first film in exchange for helping them make it.

No unpaid production work

Participants are not used as free crew on other people’s projects under the label of experience.

Take part

This one needs things, not only money.

Equipment you no longer use, a few hours of teaching, a room in the evenings, or an introduction to someone who books, casts or scouts. All of it counts, and some of it counts more than a transfer.
